Our kids come home every day and head to the fridge. You might think they haven’t eaten all day based on the way they grab something edible.

I try to ward off those hungry beasts by telling them that dinner will be ready in less than an hour. This is greeted with moans and groans and hunger claims. Most days I switch off and have them eat a tube of yogurt, some banana and peanut butter popsicles or fruits and vegetables.

They complain some more because they really want the cookies and candy that they know I’m hiding in the pantry, but they’ll get any food at that point.

Now that the nights are starting to cool down, I’m ready to ditch my hoodies and sweaters and make as much comfort food as I can. During the colder months, I like to make a big pot of soup to warm up for dinner.

Our kids regularly request the best Creamy Tomato Soup and this Broccoli Soup when it’s cold outside.
