A TASTY CHICKEN RECIPE IN THE FRYER

I’m starting to believe that you can literally do anything in a deep fryer! Side dishes, appetizers, first courses and even desserts. It is one of the few kitchen appliances that has been used so frequently (especially in summer!). This whole air fryer rotisserie chicken is an example of a delicious meal that will serve the whole family with surprisingly juicy flavor. Serve it with some of your favorite sides and you have the perfect family dinner. Believe me when I say that this recipe is easy and requires very little effort. If you want something new (and pretty awesome!) to make in your air fryer, you need this air fryer rotisserie chicken recipe.

FREQUENT QUESTIONS:

What size chicken should I use?

We like to use a 3-4 pound chicken, it will fit perfectly in the air fryer basket. If you make it bigger you run the risk that it will not fit you.

What can I serve this with?

You can serve it with one of your favorite side dishes, such as vegetables or a salad. We use the potatoes as you can see in the photos below. I just heated them in the microwave. To prepare them, follow this recipe: prick the potatoes with a fork. Place the potatoes on a microwave-safe plate and cover with cling film. Microwave for about 6 minutes (check at the 4-minute mark), then add ½ stick (¼ cup) melted salted butter and ¼ teaspoon each garlic powder, onion powder, and Italian seasoning.

Should I preheat my air fryer?

Yes, for this recipe you’ll want to preheat it to 390 degrees for 5 minutes before you put the chicken in. Not all recipes require preheating, but this one does.

When do I know my chicken is ready?

Getting an internal thermometer really helps with this. When the core temperature of the thickest part of the chicken (not touching the bone) reaches 165 degrees F, it is ready and safe to eat.

Can I use other ingredients?

If you’re not a fan of the ingredients I’ve used here, feel free to use any ingredients you like or one prepackaged from the store! Cajun Seasoning and Lemon Pepper Seasoning are two of my favorite seasoning mixes.

Why do I have to turn my chicken?

This is to achieve even cooking and a golden skin around the chicken.

How do I store leftovers?

This can be stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container where it will keep for up to 4-5 days. Cooked chicken can also be frozen. Place cooked chicken in a freezer bag or container and it will keep frozen for up to 3 months. To thaw, remove from the freezer in the refrigerator overnight until thawed.
