What is ranch chicken? Ranch Chicken is a classic chicken dish made with chicken, cream cheese, ranch, cheddar cheese, and bacon.


With a few simple ingredients that you probably already have on hand, you can have this recipe ready in no time!

  • Chicken- For this recipe, we like to use boneless, skinless chicken breast, but you can also use boneless, skinless chicken thighs or chicken fillets.
  • Cream cheese- Your favorite cream cheese will work.
  • Ranch- We used Ranch Powder for this recipe, but you can also use Ranch Seasoning Mix (in packets).
  • Butter- The butter adds creaminess to the recipe.
  • Broth- Although we use chicken broth, vegetable broth can be used.
  • Garlic- This recipe calls for freshly minced garlic but substitutes garlic powder.
  • Seasoning- To season this dish we use salt and black pepper.
  • Cheese- You can use any of your favorite grated cheeses for this recipe. Shredded cheese like Colby jack, mild cheddar, Mexican blend, or your favorite cheese will work.
  • Bacon- This dish calls for chopped and cooked bacon, our air fryer bacon is the easiest way to cook bacon.


The instructions for this Creamy Ranch Chicken Recipe are so simple and it only takes 5 minutes to make!

  1. Add all ingredients except grated cheese and bacon to crock pot.
  2. Cook time: high for 3-4 hours or low for 6-7 hours with the lid closed.
  3. When the chicken is cooked, remove it from the pot and prick it with two forks.
  4. Add the shredded chicken, grated cheese, and bacon to the saucepan and stir to combine with the sauce.
  5. Cook until cheese melts and serve to taste.

  • 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breast
  • 12 ounces cream cheese temp
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 2 tablespoons ranch powder
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • ½ teaspoon of salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 8 ounces bacon, chopped and cooked
  • 1 1/2 cups grated cheese
  • Add chicken breast, cream cheese, minced garlic, ranch powder, butter, chicken broth, salt, and black pepper to pot.
  • Close the lid and cook over low heat for 3-4 hours or 6-7 hours maximum.
  • Remove chicken and, using two forks, slice through chicken breast.
