Over the years, I have always made these Oreo Cookie Chocolate Chip Brownies for parties and events. Then I made these Espresso Brownies and they officially became our new favorite on-the-go brownies.

I seriously dream of these dark, rich brownies. My favorite thing about these brownies is how thick and chewy they are. In addition, the coffee gives them a touch of caffeine.

The espresso powder is the secret to making these brownies taste amazing. It deepens the flavor of the chocolate and gives them a rich flavor that you will love.

Easy espresso brownies will satisfy your sweet tooth and love of coffee. They are the ultimate dessert for any party, picnic or barbecue.

Main ingredients

You just need a few simple ingredients to make this espresso cookie fondant recipe.

  • Butter – Softened unsalted butter adds rich flavor. If you use salted butter, reduce the amount of salt in the recipe.
  • sugar – Granulated sugar sweetens and balances the cocoa powder.
  • all-purpose flour – These brownies do not need a lot of flour. Learn how to measure flour correctly with a spoon.
  • dark cocoa powder – The key to dark chocolate brownies is dark cocoa powder. Hershey’s is what we always use. Regular cocoa can be used, but the brownies will be lighter in color.
  • instant espresso powder – Adds a rich coffee flavor and deepens the chocolate flavor. DeLallo is my favorite brand of instant powder because it dissolves easily in liquids and batters. You I could use regular espresso powder, but the brownies will have a grainier texture.

tips and tricks

  • Prepare the butter in advance. Softened butter is much easier to mix with other ingredients.
  • Cover the pan with parchment. You can use tie clips to hold it in place until you add the batter. After cooking, you can easily take out the brownies.
  • Measure flour and cocoa powder correctly. Shell with a spoon and gently place in the measuring cup. You’ll end up with too much if you pick up or pack your bags.
  • Preheat the oven while you prepare the dough. Use a oven thermometer to make sure your oven is at the right temperature.
  • Use a wooden toothpick or skewer to taste the baked brownies. You want there to be some moist crumbs in it. It’s best to scoop the brownies out slightly when they’re cooked because they’ll harden as they cool.
  • Let the brownies cool completely before cutting them with a plastic knife. This will prevent them from sticking together and falling apart.
  • Add a scoop of homemade cookies and custard ice cream for a fantastic brownie dessert.
