Dutch banana baby » Simple and Healthy Recipe! ✅

This Banana Dutch Baby is tasty, buttery, and smooth, and the texture is very similar to bread pudding. If you love bread pudding, this recipe is a must. – April B

  • 3 tablespoons of butter

  • 3 large eggs

  • 1/2 cup buttermilk

  • 3 spoonfuls of sugar

  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon

  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/2 banana

  • 1/2 banana cut into cubes

  • 1 banana cut into long slices and a couple into regular slices for the center of the cake

  • 1/4 teaspoon lemon extract

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • Sifted icing sugar (optional to decorate)

  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar

  1. Preheat oven to 400F.

  2. In a large nonstick skillet (can use cast iron) over medium heat, melt butter, add sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Add the diced bananas and cook for 5-7 minutes.

  3. In a blender, add the eggs, half of the banana, milk, flour, salt, baking powder, vanilla, and lemon extract and blend.

  4. Pour the milk mixture into a lightly oiled griddle, then add the banana-brown sugar mixture on top and flip the mixture slightly, then add the banana slices on top. I slice the bananas in the longest direction and then the circular ones for the top of the cake.

  5. Cook until golden, about 15 minutes. The edges will swell when finished

  6. Dust with powdered sugar or syrup (optional)
