Let’s talk about the salad for a minute. When you first hear the word salad, I’m sure you think of leafy greens, vegetables, and dressings, right?

But did you know that a salad is actually a dish made up of small pieces of food mixed with a sauce? So this chocolate cake I could be called a salad! It has little bits of nuts and chocolate mixed into a fluffy chocolate pudding “topping”. Looks like a salad to me. Make the eyepiece!

Since that dessert salad was such a hit online, I started thinking of other fun variations. Rocky Road ice cream is one of my favorites. I love soft marshmallows mixed with chocolate and pecans so I added those flavors to this chocolatey treat recipe.

Ingredients for the Easy Chocolate Mousse

This chocolate salad is really just a 3-ingredient chocolate mousse where all kinds of toppings are mixed together.

  • Preparation for instant chocolate pudding. – be sure to buy instant jello pudding so it sits well. If you take a cook and serve, this recipe will not work for you.
  • Milk – integer, 2% or 1% is ok
  • cold beater – gives it a light and fluffy texture
  • mixture – mini chocolate chips, miniature marshmallows and chopped almonds give the dessert salad that rocky road flavor

How to Make Rocky Road Fluff Salad

This chocolate sheet assembles in 5 minutes. Make sure all ingredients are chopped and measured before starting the chocolate salad.

  1. Whisk together milk and instant pudding mix.
  2. Once it has thickened, add the Cool Whip.
  3. Combine the chocolate chips, marshmallows, and almonds.
  4. Refrigerate 1 hour before serving.

  • 1 – 3.9 oz dark chocolate instant pudding

  • 1 cup of milk

  • 1 8-oz. container Cold Beater, thawed

  • 1 ½ cup miniature marshmallows

  • ¾ cup miniature chocolate chips + extra

  • ¾ cup chopped almonds + extra

  • marshmallow bits for garnish, if desired Save $

  1. Whisk together pudding and milk until melted and thick. Incorporate all the Cool Whip.
