FREQUENT QUESTIONS:

Do I need to spray my air fryer basket first?

Absolutely, spraying with olive oil cooking spray is always recommended. Olive oil spray seems to be the best as it doesn’t make the basket stick or clog the fryer basket.

How do I know when the potatoes are ready?

In this particular recipe, I tried it and it took about 18-20 minutes in my air fryer basket. I only test recipes in basket air fryers as they are the most popular and most purchased air fryer by consumers. If you have a different style of air fryer, the cooking time will likely vary. You will want to check the wedges in the last few minutes of cooking to make sure they are cooked through and crisp. If you want them to be more crispy, you can add a few more minutes to the cooking time.

What kind of potatoes should I use?

I like to use red potatoes for this recipe, but you can use Yukon gold or red potatoes if you like. Keep an eye on cooking time as it will likely vary depending on the size and variety of potatoes you use.

Can these be made into “loaded potato wedges”?

Absolutely! You’ll want to cook them in the air fryer first. Then top them with cheese and bacon and place them back in the fryer until the cheese has melted. Finally, when ready to serve, garnish with the sliced green onion. Serve with sour cream on the side! Makes a fabulous appetizer!
