How to cook hot dogs in the air fryer?

First of all, you need to make cracks or burns on the hot excavation with a sharp knife. These can be at an angle or straight down the center.

These allow the sausages to cook without exploding.

You will now place the sausages in a single layer in your air fryer basket. The single layer is the key! This is also when you can sprinkle with salt and pepper and a drizzle of avocado oil or a drizzle of olive oil.

Be sure to toast your hot dog buns in the air fryer as well, it makes a HUGE difference!

Look how crispy?? Honestly the BEST way to cook hot dogs! So juicy on the inside yet perfectly crisp on the outside!

How long to cook hotdogs in the air fryer?

Like the dogs, they should be cooked to 400 degrees F and shaken midway through for 5 to 6 minutes.

Frozen hot dogs in the fryer

You can make this recipe using frozen hotdogs as is. I prefer to set the temperature to 350 degrees F and add another 3-4 minutes of cooking. This allows the sausages to thaw during air frying!

Bacon Wrapped Hot Dogs in a Deep Fryer

Wrap the sausages in bacon and follow the recipe as is, adding another 2-3 minutes of cooking time while stirring halfway through.

Ingredients for hot dogs

While hotdogs are perfect just the way they are, I love making my own Jalapeno Cheese Hotdogs.

Start by placing the air fried hot dog on the bun. Load up the hot dog with jalapeño slices and lots of cheese. Now lay out the cheese sandwiches (again in a single layer). Air fry for just 2 minutes until the cheese has melted. My God, how good!
