No need to sauté the meatballs, just shape them and add them to the marinara sauce and cook, it’s that easy.

INGREDIENTS-

  • meatballs– For the meatballs we use our homemade meatballs recipe for fresh meatballs. You can also use frozen meatballs for a heavy weeknight dinner.
  • marinara sauce– You can also use your favorite jar of canned marinara sauce or our homemade marinara sauce.

If you don’t have an Instant Pot, use our classic homemade meatball recipe.

HOW TO MAKE INSTANT MEATBALLS IN ONE POT-

With just a few basic ingredients you can have this simple dinner ready.

  1. meatballs– Combine all the ingredients for the meatballs in a bowl. Form 24 meatballs.
  2. marinara sauce– Turn the Instant Pot to sauté mode and sauté the onions.
  3. mashed potatoes– Add the rest of the sauce ingredients and bring to a boil. With a hand blender, blend the sauce until you get a puree.
  4. cook the meatballs– Add the meatballs to the instant sauce, close the lid, close and cook on high pressure.
  5. To a good time– Serve to taste and enjoy your meal!

HOW TO SERVE-

There are several ways to enjoy these juicy meatballs! These are our favorite ways:

What kind of meat do I use?

You want to use beef with a lean fat content of about 90% – 10%. You can use all of the beef in this recipe or mix the beef with other meat. One pound of ground beef can be combined with a half pound of ground pork, chicken, or turkey with excellent results.

Yes, add about 8 ounces of raw pasta to the meatballs and continue with the directions.

home made meat balls –

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1/2 large onion, finely grated
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1/3 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 3 tablespoons Parmesan cheese
  • 3 tablespoons whole milk
  • 1½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil

sauce-

  • 1/2 large onion, finely chopped
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 28 ounces diced tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons of water
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh basil
  • ¼ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ¼ teaspoon dried parsley

prepare the meatballs

  • Grate the onion on the side of the small holes that protrude from the grater.
  • In a bowl, combine ground beef, grated onion, minced garlic, eggs, mayonnaise, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, milk, salt, pepper, and chopped basil.
  • Form 24 meatballs evenly with the mixture.

cooking sauce and meatballs-

  • Turn the Instant Pot to sauté mode and sauté the chopped onion in oil and butter until the onion is tender. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant. Add the diced tomatoes, water, salt, pepper, basil, oregano, and parsley to the Instant Pot and bring to a boil.
  • With a hand mixer, blend the sauce until you get the desired consistency.
  • Add the shaped meatballs to the Instant Pot.
  • Seal and pressure cook for 9 minutes, release pressure and serve.

marinara sauce– If you want to omit the homemade sauce, use a 32-ounce jar of marinara sauce.

  • Add the sauce to the Instant Pot and add all the meatballs into shape and cook.
