Ketogenic Magic Cookie Bars are one of my most popular keto desserts, and for good reason. They’re the low-carb, sugar-free version of a kids’ classic that everyone loves. Just as sticky and sweet, just like the original but with a fraction of the carbs.

And now I’ve given them a fun Christmas touch! I added some unsweetened dried cranberries and pecans, along with white chocolate and dark chocolate chips.

But this time even the crust is made entirely of walnuts. So many people loved the Keto Blueberry Jamboree Pecan Meal Crust that I decided to repeat it here too.

I’ll be the first to admit that using pecan flour makes these Christmas magic bars look dark and maybe a little weird.

Believe me folks, when you try them you don’t really care about appearances. It’s perfect perfection and pairs so well with condensed gooey toppings.

Now you may be wondering if you can make your own walnut flour in a food processor. It’s possible, but it won’t be as fine as commercially ground varieties. Just be sure to stop processing when it looks like coarse crumbs. Overground and quickly turns into nut butters.

Magic bars can have any number of ingredients, but the standard variety typically includes:

  • grated coconut
  • Chopped nuts
  • Chocolate chips
  • Peanut butter or caramel chips
  • sweetened condensed milk

For this Christmas version, I saved the shredded coconut (no sugar of course), used walnuts instead of walnuts, and added dried cranberries.

Frequent questions

Should I use walnut flour in the crust?

No, you don’t have to. You can easily use almond flour instead, in the same amount.

Where do you find dried cranberries without sugar?

I make my own. It’s linked in the recipe and it’s super easy, I promise. There are some brands that sell completely unsweetened dried cranberries and they work too. But they are not widely available.

I can’t get BochaSweet because of the unsweetened condensed milk, can I use something else?

Allulose is better and xylitol works too. You can use more Swerve or another erythritol-based sweetener, but it will recrystallize as it cools.

Is there a way to make this dairy free?

Absolutely! My unsweetened condensed milk works well with coconut cream (the thick white part at the top of a can of coconut milk). And you can use melted coconut oil in the crust.

White chocolate chips contain dairy, so use only dark chocolate.

Can Keto Cranberry Pecan Magic Bars be made ahead of time?

Due to the sticky consistency of the filling, these bars should not be made more than 2 days in advance. Store them in the refrigerator until ready to serve. They will be stickier at room temperature, so you can let them sit for 15-20 minutes.

Preparation time: 15 minutes

Cooking time: 40 minutes.

Total time: 55 minutes

  • Preheat oven to 325F.

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the walnut flour, sweetener, and salt. Add the melted butter until the mixture begins to form lumps. Press firmly and evenly into bottom of 9×9-inch metal pan.

  • Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until lightly browned around the edges. Remove from the oven and let cool.


  • Increase oven temperature to 350F.

  • Sprinkle cold crust with coconut, cranberries, pecans, and chocolate chips. Pour unsweetened condensed milk over everything, making sure it reaches all the corners.

  • Cook 20 to 25 minutes, until foamy and beginning to brown. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely before cutting into bars.
