Maple, Fig, Walnuts, Apple and Orange Mix with Feta Cheese Chips » Simple and healthy recipe! ✅

Figs, fruit and cheese have always gone well together and many recipes use these fresh ingredients. The maple syrup adds more complexity to the overall simplicity of the recipe. You can serve it with or without pecans. If you don’t count the optional spices and nuts, you only have 5 ingredients. This dish is light and wonderful with heavier appetizers. -A day

  • 1/2 cup pure light grade maple syrup

  • 1/2 cup fig jam, purchased or made yourself

  • 4 green apples, cored and sliced ​​1/8-1/4 inch with skin

  • 4 pieces of oranges, peeled and without pith, cut

  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

  • 1 cup of feta or goat cheese,

  • 1 cup walnuts, toasted, chopped, optional

  1. Mix the fig jam with the maple syrup, salt, cinnamon in a metal saucepan and heat it over boiling water for a few minutes so that the mixture liquefies a little, then cool.

  2. Preheat oven or toaster to 350 degrees and toast the nuts for about 8 minutes and set aside.

  3. Cut the green apples into 1/8-1/4 inch slices with the skin, but without the core, and pour the lemon juice over them to prevent browning, then arrange on 8 individual plates or on a large plate .

  4. Remove the skin and pith from the oranges and arrange the segments decoratively on top of the apple slices.

  5. Place teaspoons of feta cheese on top of each apple slice and sprinkle a little on the sides of the place.

  6. Pour maple-fig mixture over apples and oranges, then top with chopped pecans if desired.
