Give your morning a boost with caffeine-infused protein oatmeal. It tastes like a dessert, but it’s nutritious, filling, and has a wonderful coffee and chocolate flavor. Warm up on a winter morning with a bowl of oatmeal mocha that will keep you full for hours. This recipe is also gluten-free, vegan, and nut-free. —Maia03

  • 1/2 cup gluten-free oatmeal

  • 1/2 cup coffee, strongly brewed and chilled

  • 1/2 cup coconut or almond milk

  • 1/2 cup of water

  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds

  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1/2 banana, mashed

  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder

  • 1 scoop chocolate vegan protein powder

  1. In a small pot on the stove, mix all ingredients except protein powder and stirring frequently, cook for 6-8 minutes over medium-high heat.

  2. Add cocoa powder and protein powder after removing oats from heat. Add a little extra non-dairy milk if it’s too thick.

  3. For an optional garnish: Beat about 2 teaspoons maple syrup with 2 tablespoons cocoa powder or until desired consistency and sprinkle on top. Garnish with banana slices and chocolate-covered espresso beans, if desired.
