A few weeks ago, I made candy molds, some chocolate bars, and lots of cheesecake parfaits for a school lunch that we helped organize.

We love the flavor of this dreamy cake so I decided to use the flavors to make a simple fondant. Adding just a bit of orange extract and a swirl of color made this Creamy Orange Fondant my new favorite fondant.

Ingredients needed

Have you heard of dark polish? All you need is a bag of chocolate chips and a container of canned icing to make the fondant. This simple fondant base is so much fun to put together with different flavors and combinations.

  • white chocolate drops – you will need a bag full of chips
  • Butter – use a little unsalted butter to help the white chips melt easier
  • canned vanilla frosting – melted with chips to give the two-ingredient fudge its sweet and creamy consistency
  • orange extract – gives dark chocolate a delicious orange flavor
  • orange food coloring – adds a touch of bright color

How to do

This orange cream made with icing is very easy to prepare in minutes. Simply melt the ingredients together, add a little flavor and color, then toss them together in a pan. Calmly!

  1. Add the white chocolate chips and butter to a saucepan and heat over low heat until melted into a creamy batter.
  2. Remove the foil lid from the canned frosting and microwave for 30 seconds. Stir and pour into the white chocolate mixture.
  3. Keep stirring over low heat until the fudge melts and is creamy.
  4. Divide the hot fondant mixture into two separate bowls.
  5. Add the orange extract and some gel food coloring to a bowl and mix well.
  6. Drop dollops of vanilla fondant and orange fondant into a foil-lined pan. Pour about half of each color into the bottom of the pan, then stir gently with a knife.
  7. Repeat this step with the remaining fondant. Roll the top up one more time and then let it cool for about 10 minutes.
  8. Add orange jelly candies if desired. Don’t add them too soon, or they will sink too much into the orange cream.

  • Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper, so you can easily lift the orange swirl once it’s done.
  • Heat the white chocolate chips and butter over very low heat to avoid burning or scorching the chocolate.
  • Use a toothpick to add the orange gel dye little by little. Gel colors are very concentrated, so you will only need a little.
  • Let the pastry cream cool completely before cutting it into squares.

  • 2 cups of white chocolate chips

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

  • 1 – 16 ounce vanilla frosting

  • 1 ½ teaspoon orange extract

  • orange gel food coloring

  • 12 orange sliced ​​jelly beans


  1. Line an 8×8 pan with foil or parchment paper and set aside.
  2. Place the white fries and butter in a large skillet and heat over low heat until melted. (It will look more like a creamy paste.)
  3. Remove the metal coating from the canned frosting. Heat in the microwave for 30 seconds.
  4. Pour in the melted white chocolate mixture. Mix until melted and creamy. Divide the mixture evenly between two bowls.
  5. Mix the orange extract in a bowl of fondant. Use a toothpick to add a little orange gel food coloring at a time to the same bowl. Mix and take care of your color. Add more if you want it darker. Make sure to use a new toothpick each time you continue to add color.
  6. Randomly spoon two tablespoons of both fondant mixtures into the prepared pan. Shake with a knife from time to time, then continue to pour more of each color into the pan.
  7. Use the knife to slightly twist the top. Be careful not to shake too much, otherwise it will lose its white color.
  8. Let the fondant cool for 10 minutes. Cut the chewy orange slices into 3 pieces and crush them over the fondant.
  9. Let the fondant cool completely and prepare it before cutting it into 36 pieces.
