Spa Pops Recipe with Cucumber Basil + Watermelon and Strawberry » Simple and Healthy Recipe! ✅

It’s important to stay cool and hydrated when the weather heats up. Our favorite summer afternoon snack is homemade popsicles. We love fun rainbow yogurt pops, but these turn into fun spa pops.

They are healthy, moisturizing and 100% natural. You’ll be surprised how quickly they disappear from the freezer!

Basil and Cucumber Popsicles

Cucumber and melon are two of my summer favorites. They both have a high water content, of course, which makes them a great base for popsicles. I added basil and lemon to these cucumber popsicles so they taste like infused water, not sweet, but absolutely refreshing.

Feel free to add a bit of natural sweetener if you like its fruity side. Agave, coconut sugar syrup, or even a little more fruit (more melon is an obvious choice, but something like kiwi or pineapple would be pretty amazing on these) should do the trick.

Simply puree the ingredients in a blender or food processor, then pour into popsicle molds. If you don’t have plastic popsicle molds, you can always use small paper cups instead.

Simply pour the liquid into the cups and wrap the tops with foil. Then make a small hole in the foil through which you can insert a wooden popsicle stick.

Although it does create a bit more mess, I find cups are easier to use if you have small children as they create smaller portions. As a bonus, just hold the cup under the paddle and let it act as a drip tray.

Strawberry and watermelon popsicles

To the watermelon pops I added strawberries: a perfect combination for summer!

You could definitely use other varieties of melon, berries, or other fruit. Other fresh herbs like mint or even edible flowers would also make good pop spas. I use these molds that hold about 4 ounces of liquid in each. The exact amount may vary slightly due to natural variations in the water content of fruits and cucumber.

Some different combinations to try:

-Lemon with edible flowers such as pansies or lavender

– Cucumber and mint

-Melon with strawberry slices or other pieces of fresh fruit

-Add additional water or coconut water for additional hydration benefits. Just be careful, more liquid means more time to freeze. And if you have kids having fun, it may or may not be worth it!

Cucumber Basil Spa Popsicles

  • 2 large cucumbers, peeled and diced
  • juice of 1-2 lemons to taste
  • a handful of basil leaves
  • 1/2 to 1 cup water as needed to blend

Strawberry Watermelon Spa Popsicles

  • 4 cups of chopped watermelon
  • 2 cups of strawberries

-You can also use fresh cucumber juice, or you can filter the mixture, if you wish, before pouring it into the molds.
